To live, simply to live, to live itself.

To be, to exist, that pure phenomenon of reality,

The open palm, spread wide to receive

That vast tolerance felt in the quiet sunlight and wordless warmth.

The joy of falling away, drop by drop,

Shrinking the humble body within that ultimate pleasure,

To just exist, eternally transparent,

Days growing full,

And thus consuming my existence once more.

That is my peace. On a stormy day,

Though heaven and earth flip and collapse,

My soul is ready to depart slowly for the sea.

With a single star, the compass for the soul,

My body—oh, my limitation—

Managing to carry itself, as best it can, as long as I breathe.
